The Directorate Of Public Prosecution has told South Regional Magistrate Lot Moroka that the state has managed to get statement from De Beers Managing Director, Nicky Oppenheimer in a case against former Debswana Louis Nchindo. This was after the original statement from the De Beers Managing Director went missing. Addressing the court, Chief Prosecution counsel Matlhogonolo Phuthego said the state has already served the defence with a copy of the statement. The date of mention is 14 February while the 6th of April has been set as trail date. Moroka said the trail will run for the whole month. Nchindo is charged alongside his son, Garvas, Joseph Matome and Jacob Sesinyi. The state has indicated that it will order Nchindo's lawyers and Partners at the law firm of Collins and Newman, Parks Tafa and Laurence Khupe to give evidence against their client, Nchindo. The prosecution has managed to get statements from Former President Festus Mogae, Justice David Newman, former cabinet members, Jacob Nkate, George Kgoroba, and Boomotswe Mokgothu.
