Ladies and gentlemen, I am going to hell, is there anybody coming with me? Silence means consent. Let us proceed. The subject of our discussion today will definitely pave my way to hell. I am prepared to go there, after all someone has to go there to justify its existence. The fear of the eternal burning fire of hell is the biggest bargaining chip for almost all religions known to mankind. All this came after irreconcilable differences and lack of understanding and cooperation between God and his once beloved angel Satan.
Now everybody hates and despises Satan, fair enough. But have we realised that almost all religions are premised on the fear and rejection of Satan, therefore taking Satan out of the equation destroys the whole idea of religion and consequently the idea of God. In my opinion, they are both necessary, they just have to sort out their differences and move on. I think they should be inspired by Zimbabwe and consider coming up with a Government of National Unity, of course with an option of quitting if the other partner is not committed to his word. The Zimbabwean model is the best.I am not very privy to what exactly transpired between God and Satan. I am made to understand that at one point Satan tried voicing his opinion but was dismissed as a dangerously ambitions power-monger and was kicked out of heaven. Well, he might have overdone his protest, but I believe he deserved to be heard without vindication or prejudice. Since then, mankind has never known peace, the inevitable fight between good and evil has never ceased. I sincerely believe that, had Satan been given a platform to present his ideas, this power struggle could have been averted. I know this sounds crazy, but I am just advocating for equal opportunity to prove unequal talent. Democracy is just one hell of idea, but one worth dying for. Sometimes democracy requires the possible out of the impossible. Our commitment to God is inversely our attempt to reject Satan. This shows the importance of an alternative voice or opposition in any set up. I am so sick and tired of the “Mickey mouse” games taking place within the ruling party. It is not anything amusing at all. Their self-destructive endeavour is the biggest cash-cow for the media. They seem to be enjoying being in the headlines and the subsequent fame thereof. The post election reconciliatory statements proved nothing but cheap talk. They are still on their suicide mission, predicated on ego, vendettas, hero-worshipping and self-serving power-mongering tendencies. I hope my tone suggests anger, because indeed I am angry. I may be mistaken, but I do not see the rationale of concentrating power in the hands of one individual. The proponents of this one-man show are forgetful of the fact that power is dynamic; tomorrow they may find themselves in periphery of favour. My understanding of power is that, the more you distribute it, the more you retain it. The other point is, power has to have an end result. They can fire their enemies and hire their friends, control every sphere of our lives, and then what? I am yet to understand why the factions of the ruling party cannot work together for the sake of their party. They do not necessarily have to neither share common perspectives on issues nor be friends to work together. Indeed, they have to be different to be complementary. They may passionately hate one another but they have a mandate to deliver on. The bad practices of purging and witch-hunting serve their party and this nation with nothing but uncertainty. Until a meaningful accommodation of different views exists within the ruling party, sanity will never prevail. The party will always be in the intensive care unit being resuscitated. A great leader always forges commonality out of differences and finds unity in diversity.Away from the madding crowd, I understand that God and Satan are working on drafting a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a reconciliatory gesture. Should everything go as planned, soon the strip clubs and churches would soon be operating in the same premises. This would save us time.
